We cannot support you on Vista.
We cannot support you on Chinese and Japanese versions of XP
We can only support on XP as this is all we have as the develpment OS at this moment in time.
Known Issues : (grey = already patched, not repeatable or not high priority ; black = still being worked on for patch)
1) Airfields sometimes straddle roads and rails but there are a lot less of them now. - Non critical low priority - no fix intended anytime soon
2) Some PC's are afflicted with a "Hang on Exit Bug" run CFS3 first to avoid this issue - please do not post this as a problem - I am aware of it and I cannot reproduce it or fix it. - No fix but workaround is run CFS3 first.
3) Skin Selections for player craft in Quick Flight are not working - Enemy Craft skin selections are working - Patched
4) Random skin rip sound on some craft - Patched
5) An enemy craft may sometimes appear with no pilot in Quick Flight. - No fix
6) Some troop models are rotated 90 degrees - Patched
7) Bombs have no explosion sounds - Patched.
8) Some airfields in different periods are owned by the wrong side particularly 1917 - Patched, some may remain we will continue to search and patch as required
9) If you have the 50 Yard bug - Ensure CFS3 is patched to 3.1 then install OFF again - not repeateble - Phase2 has no 50 Yard bug as far as we can tell. (Also using an old v3.0 cfs3.exe as shell.exe can cause it to appear).
10) Sopwith Stutter error on CFS3 loading - Players have resolved this issue by doing a clean install of CFS3 and OFF2.
11) Missions shipped with OFF Phase2 were included in error. They were included in our beta to test manager functionality I failed to delete them from final build- Delete them many will not work!!! - An OFF mission pack is being made see our website for more details of up and coming OFF work. These missions reside in \missions\training.
12) Gun sound distortion on some craft (notably SE5a) - Problem is a real sound effect caused by two different rates of fire gun sounds playing sumultaneously. The vickers is slow as it fires through prop, the Lewis is fast as it is above the prop arc. The two sounds together sound bad as they would in real life. This was not a problem in phase1 as the ROF sound wise for both guns were the same frequency/rate and they synchronzed sound wise, and thus sounded clean. Reality sucks
13) Some Airfields are under water (st Pol Sur Mer lives up to its name a bit to much) - Will fix after critical issues
14) Some reports of video driver issues that render OFF videos non-functional - Users who have updated their windows medio drivers and INDEO drivers report that the problem is then solved - make sure you have installed the vids pack first!!
15) Water Spray effects bug - Patched.
16) Most Phase1 missions will not work with Phase2 - No support can be offered at this time
17) Multiplayer hang on exit due to a dialogue error (debug mesage in background) - Multiplayer Patch is done - run this wee patch after every OFF update - scroll down on OFF website to grab the 88kb MP patch
18) Logging is not differentiating between Campaign only and All. - Fixed in 1.5
19) Campaign outcomes are not reconciled correctly if campaign videos are off in workshops - Fixed in 1.5
20) Fokker DR1 can fall into an irrecoverable sideways slip under certain conditions - seems to happen more easily in QC than campaign - Fixed in 1.5
21) A nasty skin swap bug screws up the default textures for craft - Fixed in 1.5. It is suggested that everyone who has seen the wrong skins on the wrong craft, reinstall OFF before installing 1.5 to ensure all default skins are correct as shipped.
To do this is simple no need to delete anything: simply run the main core file, skins , vids and then patch1.5 followed lastly by the MP patch if needed for online play.
IF you see weird skins post 1.5, Install OFF again and then patch as it is most likely a corruption that took place prior to 1.5 and you did not know it!!
If in doubt install again!!
22) Strutter AI take off issues. Fixed in 1.6.
Improved Strutter (2 seater) AI take off, fixed some minor issues.
Also minor change to Re8 and Strutter XDP settings.
All DVII’s have WEP removed and instead have better HP built in to simulate “High Gas” setting. This is because many people did not realise the extra performance was available! For more authentic flight please run engine at 1400 RPM max when below 2000 feet as this would cause engine damage in real life. Stall speed also reduced.
Fixed in 1.7:
23) Campaign issues - patched.
24) Squad member names (fixed non-random names) - patched.
25) DR1 FM (AI take off, fuel load) less problem sliding with no roll control (better) - patched.
26) Minor Manager issues - patched.
27) Skin issues - patched.
28) Ace bio browse problem in "Current Squad" selection - patched.

PROBLEMS INSTALLING OFF? HOW TO CLEAN UP YOUR ACT

CLEAN UP OFF PHASE1 or PHASE2 FIRST before reinstall!
How to clean up old OFF install first...
1) Remove all existing CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields folders. Search for them, some are hidden folders like
C:\Documents and Settings\'YOUR WINDOWS USER NAME'\Application Data\Microsoft\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\
2)Also you will find one in your My Documents folder. If you can't see hidden folders open My Computer, go to Tools menu, Folder Options, View, then under Hidden files and folders enable Show hidden files and folders.
3) Find and Remove the WW1Scenery Folder (usually in \Program Files\Microsoft Games)
4) Also it's probably best to go Regedit, (backup your registry/data first, before changing of course, if in doubt do not do this without some help).
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings
Look for the "OFFManager" there and delete that entry.
5) Install OFF.
If still doesn't work, then you need to repeat ALL the above, except before
step 5) the last step, you need to uninstall CFS3 completely,
(Back it up if you need to keep planes skins missions etc)
Then
1) Remove all "Combat Flight Simulator 3" folders in the same locations as above
e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\'YOUR WINDOWS USER NAME'\Application Data\Microsoft\Combat Flight Simulator 3 etc
2) Reinstall Combat Flight Simulator 3
3) Repatch to 3.1 and 3.1a
4) Run the game, fly a mission or QC briefly
5) Install OFF Phase 2 Main installer
6) Install OFF Phase 2 Skins
7) Install OFF Phase 2 Videos
8) Install all OFF Phase 2 current Patch (if more than one then one at a time in order).
9) If you play Multi Player, run the MP patch after other patches.
